Welcome to my world
My name is Daniel Gamarra Parreño. I’m a 27-year-old managing partner of the clothing brand "FREAK," as well as a model, social media creator, dancer, and psychologist. Born and raised in Lima, Peru, I lived there for 22 years before moving to the U.S. in 2019 to pursue my dreams.
My journey to the United States has been shaped by my search for self-discovery, acceptance, and better opportunities. As an immigrant, the importance of bringing my culture and pride in who I am to the forefront has never been lost on me. I have inherited a deep sense of responsibility to preserve and share the narratives of my indigenous heritage and my experience of being born queer in a homophobic society. This has empowered me to tell our stories that reflect our lived experiences. As a queer, native Peruvian Latino with mixed European blood, I am an amalgamation of many cultures. Over the last five years, I have incorporated my experiences of American culture into my life. Everything I am is reflected in my art and in my life's purpose of grateful service to the world.
For me, dance and fashion are my third and fourth languages in addition to my native Spanish and English. Dance knows no barriers or judgments; it is an embodiment that happens when I am in the flow. It is where I have found myself after many years of searching. Fashion creates an identity and a new version of myself. I am still Daniel but have different stories to tell you as my character is born anew.
Today, my life and artistic journey are here, and I want to share them with you. I have finally come to understand the urge for movement that exists within me. I am loving the adventure of leaving my comfort zones to plant new seeds, explore new horizons, taste new foods, and immerse myself in new cultures.
